Find Your Fridom

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

My work celebrates –“Frida Kahlo”– who is one of the most famous international Mexican artists of the 20th century. Kahlo is considered a Woman–power symbol who was one of the first women to use fashion as a medium to promote feminist messages of freedom, work, and equality. She is known for her colorful floral crown and flowers to express her artistic works, particularly her self-portraits.

The artwork was created using the woodcut printmaking method that was known as relief printing earlier. Printing methods such as – Mono-Printing, Color Layering, and Collage Technique or Chine Colle is applied. It involved carving an image using a knife or other tools from the surface of a block of wood, rolling ink onto it, and taking an impression or prints using various print pressures and materials such as paper, burlap, and plastic. Dramatic and Imperfect prints are created to reference Frida Kahlo's life.
